The “Moving Painting” is pretty famously moving.

The “Moving Painting” is sometimes fake. When trying to decide – the real version has trees in the upper right corner. If there are no trees up there, you can be sure your version is fake!

Once placed in the museum, the description provided on the plaque will read,

The Birth of Venus – Sandro Botticelli, circa 1485

Tempera on canvas

A painting of the roman goddess Venus riding a scallop shell after being born in the ocean. The name Botticelli is said to actually be a nickname given to the artist’s brother, who was built like a barrel. Why this nickname was transferred between siblings is a mystery lost to the ages.
